Environmental Statement

All manufacturing processes have an impact on the environment and at Atrium we are committed to minimising the impact we have where possible.

Using timber, a sustainable building material, in the production of our conservatories has a number of benefits for the consumer and also the planet. Sustainable timber uses less energy to produce than alternatives such as uPVC or concrete and if you are conscious of reducing your use of plastics, uPVC is not a good option. As well as helping to lower CO2 emissions(trees play a vital role in capturing CO2 from the atmosphere), wood is an excellent insulator and, as such, will help keep your conservatory or orangery warm in the winter and cool in the summer

Our timber is purchased from FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) suppliers and where possible other materials are purchased as locally as possible.

Timber offcuts are bagged and sold as fuel and sawdust from the dust extraction system is similarly bagged and collected by farmers for use as required around the farm (particularly during wet weather!)

Any materials which can be recycled are collected regularly and recycled appropriately.
